What Is an Aluminum Floor Mat?
An aluminum floor mat is built from rows of aluminum profiles joined by connectors or cables. Functional inserts sit in or on each profile to scrape dirt, wipe shoes and absorb moisture, while debris falls between the profiles into the mat well below. Because aluminum is rigid and strong, these mats carry heavy foot traffic, wheelchairs, trolleys and, in some designs, light vehicles.

Do aluminum mats need a recessed mat well?
